Summary.

The bill seeks to guarantee educational continuity for basic general and secondary education students, in formal and non-formal systems and including special education, who for medical reasons must remain hospitalized, in outpatient treatment or on prolonged home rest. The State would implement hospital schools and classrooms and other complementary modalities, whose teaching would be recognized under the rules set by the Ministry of Education. The law would be governed by principles such as the best interests of the child. The statement of reasons invokes the Convention on the Rights of the Child and mentions hospital education experiences in Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia.
